CHARLESTON, S.C. — Terracon, a nationally known and respected consulting engineering firm, is excited to announce Melvin Williams, F.SAME, FACEC has joined Terracon’s Charleston office to lead local and state client relationships, while also serving as project executive for large and complex projects.

Williams joins Terracon with more than 30 years of experience in engineering. He has been elected to serve in leadership roles for many local, state, regional, and national boards and committees, including serving as vice chair for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), an organization that represents more than 600,000 employees. He also serves in the ACEC 2021 National College of Fellows. Involved in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), Melvin was elected to the National SAME 2021 Academy of Fellows.

At the local level, he was recently re-elected to the Board of Directors for the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments, a regional agency which serves a three-county area in South Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering technology from South Carolina State College, and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering from The Citadel Military College.
